BE Extraordinary! With Boomer’s Legacy’s CAMP BOOMER!

For the first time, Camp Boomer, a third-party event benefitting Boomer’s Legacy is on raisin! For the past decade, the Boomer’s Legacy BC bike ride has been a multi-day 240km ride from Comox, BC to Victoria.

This year, with the brand new raisin site comes an exciting new event format! Camp Boomer is a single day event with a military theme that allows participants to choose whether they will be cycling, running, or walking two mapped routes within 6 hours.
This event promises to be a day of physical effort, remembrance of the fallen, and of course, raising money for our troops to contribute to humanitarian efforts wherever they serve.

This year’s Camp Boomer takes place in Comox BC on July 16, 2018.

The Boomer’s ride honours all 158 Canadian soldiers who have given their lives in the line of duty while serving in Afghanistan. Many of the participating cyclists have served in Afghanistan, and some of the civilian cyclists are family members of fallen soldiers.

Boomer’s Legacy is part of a bigger fundraising and support program called Support Our Troops. Support our Troops is an entity of Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, which raises money to provide support and assistance to help individuals and families cope with challenges arising from their military service.

Boomer’s Legacy is named after Corporal Andrew “Boomer” Eykelenboom, a dedicated soldier and a Canadian Armed Forces medic killed by a suicide bomber on August 11, 2006.

We are so excited to be hosting this amazing event on raisin for the first time and honoured to support the valuable work CFMWS does for Canadians.
