Do-it-yourself (DIY) fundraising is on the rise as charitable supporters seek new and inspiring ways to get involved with their favourite organizations. raisin’s Personal Fundraising Pages module makes it easy for advocates to quickly set up their own online pages and run successful fundraising campaigns, like community BBQs, car washes, sports tournaments and birthday parties, on your organization’s behalf.

Check out some of the creative ways charities are using Personal Fundraising Pages to promote the entrepreneurial spirit of third-party organizers:

The Kidney Foundation of Canada | The Kidney Foundation of Canada uses five separate DIY microsites that encourage community members to “put their passion into action." Personal Kidney pages can be built in honour of loved ones, birthdays, weddings, third-party fundraising events and even “Transplantiversaries” that commemorate a life-changing transplant date. The multi-site campaign has been extremely successful in raising funds to help people living with kidney disease!

Save the Children Canada | Leveraging the design flexibility of raisin's fundraising templates, Save the Children Canada has built a fully-branded “Team Save the Children” micro-site for fundraising champions across Canada! Not only does the site look great, it also empowers community members looking to run their own fundraising initiative, and collect one-time or recurring gifts in support of Save the Children's humanitarian programs around the world!

Oakville Hospital Foundation | The Oakville Hospital Foundation launched their campaign to become a “Fundraising Champion” in fall 2011, and it has grown organically to raise over $200,000 for the Foundation. More than 60 fundraisers have created tribute pages for patients treated at the hospital, as well as pages to collect donations in lieu of life events or 3rd party fundraisers. The module takes into consideration the sensitives that occur when donors are giving in-honour or in-memory of someone, and offers e-card and printed card functionality.
